Gayla graduated from Indiana Business College in 1989 with a degree in Executive Administrative Science. Since graduating from college she has worked in the addictions and psychiatric fields as well as family practice. She has 15 yrs experience as office manager and has been doing insurance and medical billing for 10 yrs. Gayla struggled with an eating disorder 28 yrs ago, before anyone really understood what anorexia & bulimia were. She met Misty Rees (Selah’s Founder, COO) 13 yrs ago. “While talking with her, I realized that I had struggled with this disease in the past and didn’t really know what it was.

I began to understand why for most of my life I had such a negative body image and why so much of the stress in my life centered on how much I weighed. Although I have not been active in an eating disorder for many years, being at Selah has expanded my understanding of what contributed to its development in my life. Since I didn’t have the opportunity to have ED treatment when I was struggling, I want to work that much harder at helping those who need and want treatment to get here.”
